Blood Diamond

This week (october 2007) will be shown to the cinema the film "Blood Diamond". This film is produced a very famous actor, Leonardo di Caprio.
The film is about the mining of diamond in Africa which are used to finance conflicts (money and war). the film is located in Sierra Leone, a country involved in a Civli War sicne years. The action takes place in the 90's. So, a diamond smuggler of South Africa and a local fisherman are forced by a rebel army to work in the diamonds fields. The RUF (revolucionary united front) forced fisherman's son to entry on the rebel army. The story contiues, but if I write the continuation it's not so impactant. This film is very good, and I enjoyed a lot.

The Film

the film I've watched is called "Small time crooks", and it's about a man, Ray, and his friends who want to lead an old restaurant to stole a bank located near thier's leaded restaurant. They will open a tunel under the gronund to stole the bank, but meanwhile, Ray's woman sold biscuits in the restaruant. Ray's woman biscuits are very well known in the town and everybody wants to buy them. So Ray and his friends become rich, but because of the biscuits. I cannot explain any more because I haven't finished the film yet, so, if you want to konw the end, watch the film!!!!

Summer is comming!!

The summer is comming, and everbody is thinking which is the best place to go to holiday. In my opinion, the best place to spend a great holiday is... Tunisia. Tunisia is located near the Mediterranean sea. It is bordered by Algeria to the west and Libya to the southeast. It is the northernmost African country and the smallest of the nations situated along the Atlas mountain range.
Although is in Afica, and is an Islamic country, it's a very developed conuntry (women don't have to wear veil). Maybe, this year, we will go there because of the end of Batxillerat. Some people desagree to go there, because they think is't a dangerous country. This page will show you that you are wrong:

A fantastic film

Today I talk about Death Proof,another of my favourite film. This film was directed by Quentin Tarantino, he directed also the excellent films like Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction or Reservoir Dogs (I made an entry taliking about this film last term). I enjoy this film and this director because I think his films are very particulary and unpredictable. Moreover his films has something special, that made them a single film. I saw the film in Figueres with my friends and we became surprised because we thought that the film wasn't good. I hope that you see this fantastic film some time.

The London Eye

Sufing on the web, I found a notice of the London Eye. This monumental merry-go-round was opened on New Year's Eve 1999 to celebrate the Millennium. It's about 130 meters high, and from the top you can have a very good view of London, with all its monuments. For example, on a clear day you can see the Windsor Castle. the "eye" has 32 capsulets, each one for 25 people. It moves slowly, because that way you can enjoy the countryside. Hi everybody,

I've talked about films and games, so now I'm goning to talk about a really good book, Sophie's world, a novel by Jostein Gaarden, published in 1991. It's about a girl called Sophie who lives in Norway. He strated to receive letters which explained philosophical themes. It's an intersetnig book, which introduces you in the philosophical world. I haven't finished yet, but in this holyiday I'm gonig to finished it. If you really like reading, this is your book!!!!!

IMPERIUM CIVITAS

Hello,
most of us are a little bit tired about ancient history, because is boring, etc.. But now, exists a game called IMPERIUM CIVITAS, and yes!!! it's about Roman civilization. This game has been awarded by the town hall of Roma. You can build your own buildings and streets. When the city is made, you have to improve level of life of the population and defend it form the "barbarians". This game is fantastic, to learn something now and different form the Ancient Age, while you are playing. For example, now I'm playing in Barcino (Barcelona, and I'm trying make more beautiful the city, building some monuments. I recomend this game to everybody, because is easier to play, insturctive and more addictive!!!!!

An stressed day

This week is the worst week of the year (for the moment. Each day of the week (exept Saturday and Sunday, but because we don't have classes) we have an exam, so every afternoon we have to study, for the next day exam. Moreover, we are thinking in selectivitat and on the holidays, so we are just hopping the end of the week and of the exams. For example, today I did an exam, and now I'm goning to sutdy for the two lasts exams, so this afternoon... study. But also I'm thinking about seeing a film called Jackie Brown, by Tarnatino. It depends of the free time!!!!!!

Reservoir dogs

One of my hobbies is going to cinema. And one of my favourite director is Quentin Tarantino. His movies are a little strage and impressionant, but I like them. One of his last films I've seen is Reservoir dogs. Six professional gángsters are contracted by Joe Cabot and their son for a work. They do not know themselves to each other and they stay in the anonymity, hidden under names of colors: Mr. Pink, Mr. White, Mr. Orange, Mr. brown (Quentin Tarantino), Mr. blue and Mr. "Rubio". They meticulously prepare the robbery to a jewelry shop, but the police appears unexpectedly at the moment of the holdup turning it a massacre. All it makes suspect that there is a traitor infiltrated. Reunited behind closed doors in an old left warehouse, the survivors face to each other trying to discover who has lead them to this situation limit.

Dorian Gray

Hi people,

As we read the book called "The picture of Dorian Gray" I made a little sumary about the story:

Basil was a paintor who wanted to paint his best friend, Dorian. The picture was perfect, the best that Basil had ever done. When Dorian saw the picture, he became very surprised because of the perfection of the painting. A while ago, Lord Henry had told him that youth was the most important thing in life. So, Dorian was worried because he would become ugly, but the pircute not. Basil gave Dorian the picture, and he realised that his paint was becoming older but he was young.
Dorian found a very pretty woman, who was an actress. Her name was Sybil Vane. They both wanted to marry but during a play of Romeo and Juliet, she didn’t sing very well because she was ill. Doriant left Sybil because he stated that Sybil wasn’t an actress. As a result, Sybil killed herself and the picutre of Dorian Gray became ugly. One night, Basil wanted to see his best painting, but when he saw it, he became horrified because of Dorian’s face. Dorian was young, but his picture was quite ugly. Dorian became so furious and killed his friend Basil. Durig a hunting trip someone killed Sybil’s brother, who wanted to kill Dorian. Now Dorian was a murderer. For his fault, Sybil, Basil and Sybil’s brother had died. Finally he decided to destroy the picture, and, as a result, he died.

feelings after the paper

Well, finaly the research is done, and we (at least me) think that it has a meaning or an utility in future. More or less, doing that paper has taught me a lot of things, and also I learnt a lot!!! But it's true that we had a lot of problems because of the time and because of the difficulty of some topics. But, in conclusion, the project is done, and also the most difficult part, the oral presentation in front of three teachers. Now I still remember how nervious I was before do it, and how relaxed I felt after the presentation. After the presentation, all the class went to a dinner in Ampuriabrava to celebrate it!!!! we went to "Dolce Vita" (so original)and after we went to some publs. Now we are very happy, but also so stressed, because we are in the week of the exams!!!!!
